It’s your turn to manage your money!

Imagine you are 18 years old and you have a debit card and a cheque book. We're going to take you through a month of spending, earning and saving - but it'll only take a few minutes!

The trick is not to spend more than you earn or save but you still want to have a good time. At the end of the month we'll show you how you've done.

There are four different decisions to make. Good luck!

To get started, complete the following boxes. You can make up a fake name and address if you would prefer, though none of this information is recorded so don't worry about anyone getting access to it.

You already have £25 in your account.

1. You want to buy some music. Choose one of the following items.

You will pay for this by withdrawing money from your account using your debit card.

2. Your friend Sam is going on a school trip for a week and needs someone to cover the paper round he does. You can choose how many days you do.

Whatever you get you deposit in the bank.

3. It's your birthday!

Gran gives you a cheque for £20. You get £30 cash for your birthday. You sell your old bike to a neighbour. She gives you a cheque for £25. You buy a new bike from a shop which has new and second-hand models and pay by drawing money from an ATM using your cash card.

4. A bunch of friends are going to a concert but it was sold out when you tried to buy a ticket. You've been offered a ticket by Jemma. It cost her £25 but she can't find anyone to take it and is happy if you'll pay £10. It's a bargain.

It's the end of the month, so check your bank statement.
